How to make the perfect ice cream sundae

The ice cream sundae comes in all shapes, sizes and flavours depending on what you love and how crazy you can go! Whether this is for home or to serve up in your cafe/restaurant we have all the perfect recommended combos in our brochure.

For this recipe, we are going to go for the well-loved traditional Knickerbocker Glory! With 3 flavours of Porrelli ice cream and a handful of fresh fruits layered throughout, this ice cream recipe is a simple dessert that can be enjoyed by the whole family. In just a few steps and no time at all, this has to be one of the easiest recipes ever! Here’s how:

For 1 serving

 

Ingredients

  • 1 Scoop Porrelli Double Cream Vanilla
  • 1 Scoop Porrelli Belgian Chocolate
  • 1 Scoop Porrelli Strawberry
  • Strawberry & Peach Sauce
  • Mixed Fresh Fruit
  • Whipped Cream
  • Wafers for Decoration

 

Method

Step 1

Take a tall sundae glass, pour some raspberry and peach sauce in the bottom and add a spoonful of fresh fruit mix.

Step 2

Place one scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and add some mixed fresh fruit and syrup.

Step 3

Repeat this step again making sure you coat the edges of the glass with syrup. This time, add your scoop of chocolate ice cream.

Step 4

Add a small layer of your whipped cream, then fruit, then add your final scoop of strawberry ice cream.

Step 5

Top it off with a big final serving of whipped cream and a glazed cherry (if you have it). Swirly your sauce on top of your cream in a circular motion. Serve with a wafer and a long spoon (you’re going to need it to dig deep!)

Now simply serve and enjoy!

You can vary this recipe to suit – different fruit and sauces, it is a moveable feast, along as you have a combination of ice cream, fruit. cream and sprinkles, the sky’s the limit!
